  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

For the Pecan Topping:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1¼ cups finely chopped pecans

For the Marshmallow Layer:

  • 10 oz mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sweet Potatoes:
    • Peel and chop sweet potatoes into large chunks.
    • Place in a large pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil.
    • Cook until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain well.
  2. Make the Sweet Potato Filling:
    • Mash the potatoes in the pot.
    • Add melted butter, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
  3. Prepare the Pecan Topping:
    • In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, flour, salt, and pecans until combined.
  4. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly.
    • Sprinkle the pecan topping over the sweet potatoes.
    • Top with an even layer of mini marshmallows.
  5. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
