Ingredients

Scale

For the Noodles:

  • 8 oz (225g) dried wheat noodles or udon noodles
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Ground Beef:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water

For Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles:
    • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with 1 tbsp vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and water. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Ground Beef:
    • Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles with a spatula.
    • Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Combine Noodles and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef. Pour the sauce over the noodles and beef, and toss everything together until well-coated. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the noodles evenly.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Transfer the noodles to a serving dish or serve directly in the skillet. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
    • Serve hot with chopsticks or a fork.

Notes

  • Noodle Choice: Use udon, lo mein, or even spaghetti noodles for this recipe.
  • Adjust Sauce: If you prefer a sweeter or saltier flavor, adjust the brown sugar or soy sauce to taste.
  • Add Veggies: Toss in sliced bell peppers, carrots, or broccoli for extra nutrition and color.
