Homemade Easter Candy: A Delicious Treat for the Holiday Season

Homemade Easter Candy

Easter is the perfect time to indulge in sweet treats, and this Easter Crockpot Candy is a delightful addition to your holiday festivities. With just 3 simple ingredients, this recipe is incredibly easy to make and yields a batch of irresistibly creamy, crunchy, and colorful candies. Perfect for gifting, Easter baskets, or snacking, this candy is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. Plus, it’s made in a slow cooker, so it’s practically hands-off!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34.5 ounces honey-roasted dry roasted peanuts (I used Planters)
  • 48 ounces vanilla-flavored candy coating (Almond Bark or CandiQuik)
  • 11.4 ounces Holiday M&Ms, divided
  • Seasonal sprinkles (optional, I used jimmies and nonpareils)

Instructions

  1. Layer Ingredients: In a 5-quart crockpot, layer the peanuts and vanilla candy coating. Cover with the lid and cook on Low for 1 hour without lifting the lid.
  2. Stir Mixture: After 1 hour, remove the lid and stir the mixture. Cover again and continue cooking, stirring every 15-20 minutes, for another hour (total of 2 hours).
  3. Prepare Baking Sheets: While the candy cooks, line 3 cookie sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.
  4. Add M&Ms: Turn off the crockpot. Reserve ½ cup of M&Ms for topping. Pour the remaining M&Ms into the crockpot and fold them into the mixture.
  5. Scoop Candy: Working quickly, use a 1-tablespoon scooper to portion out the candy onto the prepared sheets. Ensure the clusters are not touching.
  6. Decorate: Before the candy hardens, top each cluster with a reserved M&M and sprinkles.
  7. Cool: Allow the candy to cool completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  1. Use Quality Ingredients: Opt for high-quality vanilla candy coating (like Almond Bark or CandiQuik) for the best texture and flavor.
  2. Work Quickly: Once the candy mixture is ready, scoop and decorate promptly before it hardens.
  3. Customize: Swap out M&Ms for other festive candies or use different nuts like almonds or cashews for variety.
  4. Storage: Store the candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
