Ginger Molasses Christmas Cookies
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are just set, with slightly crisp edges and a soft center.
