Ginger Molasses Christmas Cookies

  •  3/4 cup butter, softened
  •  1 cup sugar
  •  1 egg
  •  1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  •  2 tsp ground ginger
  •  1 tsp baking soda
  •  1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until well incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves.
  4. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are just set, with slightly crisp edges and a soft center.
