Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese: The Ultimate Comfort Food Mashup

Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese

When I was little, my grandma used to toast garlic bread with a mountain of cheese on top whenever we visited. The smell alone was enough to bring the whole family to the kitchen. This Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese takes that memory and adds a golden twist! It’s crispy, cheesy, garlicky, and perfect for lunch, a snack, or a cozy dinner. Give it a try and let your kitchen smell like pure joy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of your favorite bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)

  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)

  • 1 garlic clove (minced)

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.

  • Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.

  • Place 2 slices of bread, butter side down, on a skillet.

  • Sprinkle a mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheese generously on each.

  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter side up.

  • Cook over medium heat until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.

  • Slice, serve hot, and enjoy the melty, garlicky goodness.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread: Slightly stale bread gives a better crunch and holds up well to butter and cheese.

  • Low and slow: Cook on medium-low heat so the cheese melts fully before the bread gets too brown.

  • Mix cheeses: Combining mozzarella (for melt) and cheddar (for flavor) gives the best cheesy pull and taste.

  • Add extras: Want a twist? Add sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or caramelized onions before grilling.

  • Butter tip: Let the butter soften before mixing with garlic—it spreads easier and evenly.
