Caprese Flatbread with Balsamic Glaze

One warm afternoon in my garden, with fresh basil and tomatoes in hand, I craved something light yet satisfying. That’s how this Caprese Flatbread came to be—a simple dish that feels like a little celebration in every bite. Fresh, cheesy, and drizzled with sweet balsamic glaze, it’s perfect for sharing or savoring solo.

Ingredients

  • 2 naan or flatbread pieces

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set to 400°F (200°C).

  • Prep Flatbread: Brush each naan with olive oil. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over both.

  • Add Tomatoes: Lay tomato slices on top, add a pinch of salt and pepper.

  • Bake: Place flatbreads on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges are golden.

  • Finish with Flavor: Remove from oven, top with fresh basil, and drizzle generously with balsamic glaze.

  • Slice & Enjoy: Serve warm as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

Notes

  • Add a few slices of fresh mozzarella for a gourmet touch.

  • Try using heirloom tomatoes for extra color and sweetness.

  • Homemade balsamic glaze: simmer balsamic vinegar until thickened!
