One warm afternoon in my garden, with fresh basil and tomatoes in hand, I craved something light yet satisfying. That’s how this Caprese Flatbread came to be—a simple dish that feels like a little celebration in every bite. Fresh, cheesy, and drizzled with sweet balsamic glaze, it’s perfect for sharing or savoring solo.
2 naan or flatbread pieces
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
Preheat Oven: Set to 400°F (200°C).
Prep Flatbread: Brush each naan with olive oil. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over both.
Add Tomatoes: Lay tomato slices on top, add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Bake: Place flatbreads on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
Finish with Flavor: Remove from oven, top with fresh basil, and drizzle generously with balsamic glaze.
Slice & Enjoy: Serve warm as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.
Add a few slices of fresh mozzarella for a gourmet touch.
Try using heirloom tomatoes for extra color and sweetness.
Homemade balsamic glaze: simmer balsamic vinegar until thickened!
