Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boxed cake mix (plus required ingredients: water, oil, and eggs)
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 12 pink M&M’s (or pastel-colored candies)
  • 12 pink candy melts (or white candy melts dyed pink)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, mix the cake batter according to the box instructions (typically combining the mix with water, oil, and eggs).
  3. Bake the Cupcakes: Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter. Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  4. Frost the Cupcakes: Fill a decorating bag with vanilla frosting and cut off the tip. Pipe a swirl of frosting onto each cupcake.
  5. Add Coconut Flakes: Gently dip the frosted top of each cupcake into a bowl of coconut flakes, coating the frosting evenly.
  6. Create Bunny Footprints: Dab a small amount of frosting onto the back of one pink candy melt and three pink M&M’s. Place the candy melt at the top of the cupcake and the M&M’s below it to form a bunny paw print shape.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Display your adorable Bunny Footprint Cupcakes on a festive platter and watch them disappear!

Notes

  • Use store-bought cake mix and frosting to save time.
  • Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting to avoid melting.
  • Get creative with colors—swap pink M&M’s for pastel shades or use different candy melts for variety.
  • Add a drop of food coloring to the coconut flakes for a pastel effect.
