This recipe takes me straight back to Sunday mornings at my aunt’s house, where the kitchen always smelled like biscuits and love. We’ve taken that comfort and turned it into a breakfast pizza that’s as hearty as a hug. It’s a crowd-pleaser for any morning gathering or a treat-yourself kind of day. Give it a try and share the comfort with someone special!
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
1/2 pound ground breakfast sausage
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional for spice)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Flatten and press biscuit dough into a lightly greased 9×13 baking dish or pizza pan to form a crust. Bake for 8 minutes until lightly golden.
In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Do not drain.
Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir to coat. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened into gravy. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper.
Pour sausage gravy over the partially baked crust and spread evenly.
Top with shredded cheese.
Return to oven and bake for another 10–12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
Slice and enjoy warm!
Use turkey sausage for a lighter version.
Add scrambled eggs or hash browns for an even heartier dish.
Great for holidays, brunches, or when you’re just craving something comforting.
