Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ lb thinly-sliced deli ham (Black Forest recommended)
  • ¼ lb deli-sliced sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ lb deli-sliced Swiss cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ tsp poppy seeds
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of kosher salt (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Slider Spread

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Set aside.

2. Toast the Rolls

  • Preheat broiler on high with the rack 6 inches from the heat source.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half (keeping them connected if possible).
  • Place cut-side up on a baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted (watch closely—they burn easily!).

3. Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Dish

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F if using a dark pan).
  • Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray.

4. Assemble the Sliders

  • Place the bottom half of the toasted rolls in the baking dish.
  • Spread half of the Dijon-mayo mixture over the rolls.
  • Layer in this order:
    • Cheddar cheese
    • Ham
    • Swiss cheese
  • Spread the remaining Dijon-mayo on the toasted side of the top rolls and place them over the cheese.

5. Add Buttery Topping

  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, and salt (if using).
  • Pour over the sliders, brushing to coat evenly.

6. Bake

  • Cover with foil and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Remove foil and bake 5-10 minutes more until golden and crispy.

7. Serve

  • Let rest 2-3 minutes, then slice into individual sliders.
  • Serve with chips, fries, or pickles!

Notes

✔ Use high-quality deli meat & cheese for the best flavor.
✔ Don’t skip broiling the rolls—it adds crunch and prevents sogginess.
✔ Watch closely while broiling/baking—Hawaiian rolls brown quickly!
✔ Make ahead: Assemble (without butter topping), cover, and refrigerate. Add butter before baking.
