Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms: The Ultimate Savory Side Dish

Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms

Every time Dad fired up the grill, these buttery mushrooms were always on the side. He called them “the steak’s best friend.” Now, I make them for my family, and they disappear just as fast. Whether you’re cooking a juicy steak or need a tasty veggie side, this dish is always a hit!

Ingredients

  • 500g whole mushrooms (white or cremini)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh thyme or parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth – don’t soak them!

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.

  • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

  • Add mushrooms and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and tender.

  • Stir in soy sauce or Worcestershire for depth of flavor.

  • Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed.

  • Add a splash of balsamic vinegar or red wine for extra flavor.

  • These mushrooms are great on steak, burgers, or even toast!
