Ingredients

▢ 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
▢ 16-20 Peeps (any color or variety)
▢ 6 tablespoons butter, sliced thinly

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Baking Dish:
Lightly spray a 9”x13” or 9”x9” baking pan with non-stick spray.
  3. Arrange Peeps:
Separate the Peeps and arrange them evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Add Rice Krispies:
Pour the Rice Krispies cereal evenly over the Peeps.
  5. Add Butter:
Place thin slices of butter evenly across the top of the cereal.
  6. Bake:
Bake for 8 minutes, or until the Peeps are melted and the butter is fully incorporated.
  7. Cool and Set:
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes. The treats can be enjoyed warm for a gooey texture or cooled completely for easier cutting.
  8. Cut and Serve:
Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Use Fresh Peeps: Fresh Peeps will melt more evenly and create a gooey, marshmallowy texture.
  2. Adjust Peeps Quantity: If you prefer a stronger marshmallow flavor, add a few extra Peeps.
  3. Non-Stick Spray: Don’t skip spraying your baking dish and spatula—this ensures easy removal and cleanup.
  4. Customize Colors: Mix and match Peeps colors to create a rainbow effect or match your Easter theme.
  5. Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
