Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (200g) dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter
  • 12 oz (340g) white candy melts or white chocolate chips
  • 1 sleeve (about 40) saltine crackers
  • Festive sprinkles or Easter candies (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with non-stick spray.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the bottom of the pan, covering it completely. Set aside.
  3. Make the toffee layer: In a large saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a rolling boil. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the saltine crackers. Use a spatula to spread it out if needed.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbly and the crackers are lightly golden.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the white candy melts or white chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them sit for 1-2 minutes to soften, then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
  7. Add sprinkles or candies on top while the chocolate is still soft.
  8. Refrigerate the pan for at least 1-2 hours, or until the candy is completely set.
  9. Break into pieces and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

  1. Use a good-quality butter for the toffee layer to ensure a rich flavor.
  2. Don’t skip the foil lining in the pan—it makes cleanup a breeze.
  3. Customize the toppings with your favorite Easter candies, sprinkles, or even crushed nuts.
  4. Let the candy cool completely before breaking it into pieces for clean, even portions.
