Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package sugar wafer cookies (any flavor)
  • 1 cup yellow candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 60 candy eyeballs
  • 60 round orange sprinkles (for the beak)
  • 60 orange flower-shaped sprinkles (for the feet)
  • 60 yellow leaf-shaped sprinkles (for the hair)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Candy:
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the yellow candy melts and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth. This should take about 3-5 minutes, depending on your microwave.
  2. Prepare the Piping Bag:
Pour the melted candy into a piping bag or a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
  3. Set Up the Cookies:
Place the sugar wafers on a wire rack set over a parchment-lined baking sheet to catch any drips.
  4. Coat the Cookies:
Starting at the top of each wafer, pipe or pour the melted candy in a back-and-forth motion to cover about two-thirds of the cookie. Allow the excess to drip off.
  5. Decorate the Chicks:
While the candy is still wet, use tweezers to add:

    • 2 candy eyeballs for the eyes.
    • 2 orange flower-shaped sprinkles at the bottom for the feet.
    • 2 yellow leaf-shaped sprinkles above the eyes for the hair.
    • 2 round orange sprinkles under the eyes for the beak.
  6. Let Set:
Allow the cookies to set for at least 10 minutes at room temperature or 5-10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  7. Serve and Enjoy!
Once set, these adorable Easter chick cookies are ready to be enjoyed!

Notes

  • Sprinkle Alternatives: Use any sprinkles you have on hand to create the beak, feet, and feathers.
  • No Piping Bag? You can dip the wafers directly into the melted candy or pour the candy over the cookies instead.
