Bacon-Wrapped Pickle Dogs

This recipe started as a backyard experiment with leftovers—and turned into the hit of the summer. Tangy pickles, smoky bacon, and savory hot dogs all rolled into one irresistible bite! They’re perfect for BBQs, game days, or whenever you need a snack that gets people talking.

Ingredients

  • 4 large dill pickles

  • 4 hot dogs or beef franks

  • 8 slices of bacon

  • 4 slices cheddar or pepper jack cheese (optional)

  • Toothpicks

  • Dipping sauce: ranch, spicy mustard, or BBQ

Instructions

  1. Prep Pickles: Slice pickles lengthwise (not all the way through) and scoop out a bit of the center if needed.

  2. Stuff Dogs: Insert a slice of cheese (if using) and one hot dog inside each pickle.

  3. Wrap with Bacon: Wrap 2 slices of bacon around each stuffed pickle, securing with toothpicks.

  4. Cook:

    • Grill: Medium heat, turn often, 10–12 mins until bacon is crispy.

    • Oven: Bake at 400°F for 20–25 mins on a rack.

    • Air Fryer: 375°F for 12–15 mins, flipping halfway.

  5. Serve: Let rest a minute, then dip and enjoy!

Notes

  • Try with spicy pickles for a kick.

  • Use turkey bacon for a lighter option.

  • Serve on a bun or lettuce wrap for a full meal feel.
